The discussion engages six panel members with a range of backgrounds and expertise, including:

  • Dr Cybele Dey - Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
  • Tamara Cavenett - President, Australian Psychological Society
  • Associate Professor Fiona Charlson - NHMRC Research Fellow at the Queensland Centre of Mental Health Research and School of Public Health, University of Queensland
  • Professor Alan Rosen - Australian Health Services Research Institute, University of Wollongong; Brain and Mind Centre, University of Sydney
  • Carol Ride - Founder and Acting Executive Director, Psychology for a Safe Climate
  • Georgia Langmaid - Planetary Health Project Officer, Enliven Victoria

The discussion provides a multi-disciplinary view point on the mental health challenges and opportunities presented by climate change. Panel members deliver engaging anecdotes and insights into climate change and health. This includes discussing the elements of climate change that impact mental health, which communities are more vulnerable to mental health impacts of climate change and why, and solutions and resources that are available.
