Organiser - Advocacy Campaign


The Our Climate Our Health Campaign, currently lead by the Climate and Health Alliance, is looking for an energetic and dynamic Organiser.

Fixed-term contract to 30 September 2017

Part-time 0.2 FTE

We are looking for someone to engage our supporters and volunteers in campaign activities, and to help recruit and build capacity by working with them to develop organising and advocacy skills.

2. Duties / Responsibilities

•Communicate with campaign supporters through face to face meetings, phone, social media, and email contact.

•Contact new supporters of the campaign and engage them in upcoming activities and events.

•Work with active supporters and volunteers to coordinate advocacy and recruitment efforts.

•Provide one-on-one support for volunteers and help develop their advocacy, organising, and campaigning skills.

•Assist with other campaign efforts and events.

•Executive Director, working with CAHA Organiser: Training and Capacity Building

4. Knowledge, Experience and Skills

•Self-starting and motivated

•Commitment to advocacy on climate change and health

•Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills

•Demonstrated experience as an organiser in progressive campaigns or social justice causes

•Demonstrated ability to build and support networks of volunteers and supporters

•Public speaking and training experience preferred

•Volunteer management experience preferred
